It can help you strengthen and awaken your muscles, and hold in deep stretches to relax muscle tissue. Hatha yoga is a classical yogic tradition that involves three main practices: body postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. It's considered a gentle yoga that focuses on static poses and is great for beginners. Hatha yoga can have many benefits, including: Better sleep Strengthening core muscles Improving depression symptoms Helping with stress management Hatha yoga can also involve taking special care of diet, which makes it one of the best types of yoga for losing weight. A 30-minute Hatha session can help a person burn 149 calories. Hatha yoga has three levels: beginner, intermediate, and expert. The intermediate level is the most difficult to reach because it requires more strength and flexibility than other forms of yoga. In a general hatha yoga sequence, you can start with standing poses, such as warrior poses, gate and tree poses. Then move down to kneeling poses such as "cow and cat" and downward-facing dog
